John Bleigh We are extremely honored to have Hannibal Alumni, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) John Bleigh as tonight’s commencement speaker. John graduated from Hannibal High School in 1996 as a co- valedictorian, and then attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. Throughout his speech, he shared insights from his remarkable journey using a perfect blend of wisdom, humor, and genuine passion for success. A few more pieces of wisdom he shared [paraphrased]: 📝Always do the right thing, it’s really not that hard. 📝Have confidence in yourself and your abilities, and remember confidence comes from preparation. 📝Don’t get bogged down in the ‘what ifs.’ Keep moving forward. If you make a mistake, learn from it and move forward. 📝Always be a leader. Being a leader means staying humble, having compassion, and being committed.
