Students in Mrs. Shrader and Mrs. Watkins' classes had a fun and delicious science lesson! They used Oreo cookies 🍪 to learn about the phases of the moon 🌕. By carefully scraping off the cream to represent different phases 🌑🌓🌔, students explored how the moon changes shape throughout the month. What a creative way to make science both educational and tasty! 👏 ❤🏴☠️

US Army Lt. John Maune, HHS Class of 2019, recently arrived in Poland and was greeted with, "Lieutenant Maune? I know your dad!" The twist? His new boss is another Hannibal Pirate—CPT Ian McKenzie, HHS Class of 2010.
We’re incredibly proud of both John and Ian, and we thank them for their service to our country. Go Pirates, Go Army!

🚦 A Friday Morning Adventure to A.D. Stowell 🚂
Sometimes, you have to pivot and switch tracks! A huge thank you to Sgt. Combs, the Hannibal Police Department, and all of our amazing staff and administrators for working together to ensure our students crossed safely and to school during this morning's train delay.
Please note, this was a coordinated effort between the railroad, HPD, and staff, and all parents were informed. Remember, always use caution when crossing train tracks!

🚧 Hands-On Learning with Mr. Greening's Class 🚧
Today students in Mr. Greening's class got some hands-on experience with mini-excavator training! They faced the challenge of carefully removing a basketball from a PVC pipe without knocking it down and then placing it in a trash can.
This activity required precision, patience, and thoughtful stick movements. Great job, all! 🖤❤🏴☠️

📚 Today, Parents as Teachers Director Whitney Holliday and Assistant Superintendent Meghan Karr joined educators from across Missouri in Kansas City for a special event hosted by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). 🎉
They celebrated in recognition of the success of the Imagination Library of Missouri and encouraging more families to enroll their children. Since the program launched in November 2023, over 137,000 Missouri children have signed up! 👏 👏
⭐️ The Imagination Library has been widely researched, showing positive impacts on early childhood development and literacy skills. We're excited to continue to help inspire a love of reading in every child under five in Hannibal and across Missouri! ✨
