SCHOLARSHIPS DUE APRIL 17, 2023
All scholarships should be submitted to the HHS Counseling Center by the due date. All applications have been shared with all seniors and hard copies are available in the HHS Counseling Center.
Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Zeta Pi Chapter Distinguished Female Award (Local Scholarship) - Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be senior females. Applications will be judged on appearance, grammar and overall presentation.
Steve Clark Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must plan to attend a college or vocational school. Financial need is the primary consideration for this scholarship.
Junior Ellis Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Applicants must be seniors that participated in sports while in high school (this includes cheerleading), must plan to go to a 2 or 4 year college or technical school, and have strong moral character.
Eugene Field Elementary School Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Must have graduated from Eugene Field Elementary and have attended that school for 4 or more years, including the last 2 years prior to graduation; must be of high moral character, have an academic record of a “B” average and show reasonable financial need.
Friendship Scholarship - Melissa (Smith) McCutcheon Memorial (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be graduating seniors and must write an essay on the importance of family and friendship in your life.
Lori A. Brownell-Wagner Memorial GO BIG RED Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be graduating seniors, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and write an essay describing how school spirit is carried out in your life.
Dr. Wyeth and Mary Ann Hamlin Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $1000. Applicants must plan to major in a health related career and be in the top 20% of the class. Financial need is not considered.
Hannibal Booster Club Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Four scholarships in the amount of $1000 each will be given. Applicants must be seniors that are actively involved in activities/athletics during their senior year, must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, must have been involved in at least one sport/activity in each of their four high school years, have a minimum attendance rate of 95%, adhere to the no alcohol and drug policy as set forth by MSHSAA, and must not have been suspended from any sport/activity.
Hannibal Carbide Tool Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $1000. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, plan to attend a 4 or 5 year program in engineering, science, or business at a college or university. Community involvement, work experience, and extra-curricular activities are important.
HCTA Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Applicants' parent, step-parent, or guardian must be a current member and have at least two years of membership in both the HCTA and MSTA. Applicants must plan to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college, university, or trade school, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and minimum ACT score of 20.
Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - There will be 6 scholarships in the amount of $1000 each. Applicants are judged on financial need, academic ability, extracurricular activities, and work.
Hannibal Jaycees Frank Berry Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $750. Applicants will be judged on academics, activities, financial need, and an essay.
Hannibal Realty Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be given. One will be awarded to a student planning to attend a college/university and major in Business or Education, and one will be awarded to a student planning to attend a trade school. Applicants must be graduating seniors at Hannibal High School in the year of the award.
Hannibal Rotary Club Scholarship (Area Scholarship) - Scholarship amount is $3000 ($750 per year for 4 years). Applicants must be graduating seniors and have a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Applicants will be judged on community service, GPA, an essay, and possibly a personal interview.
Knights of Columbus - Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – The scholarship winner is selected not solely on the basis of, but considering: Catholic citizenship/involvement, community service, and financial need.
Marion/Ralls Retired School Personnel (Area Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $250. Applicants must be graduating seniors that plan to major in the field of education. Academics, financial need, and school and community involvement will be considered
Mark Twain Elementary School Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $250. Applicants must be graduating seniors that graduated from Mark Twain Elementary, have an academic record of “B” or better, and show reasonable financial need.
Melissa (Smith) McCutcheon Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be graduating seniors. An essay is required.
Mary Ann St. Clair Memorial HHS Booster Club Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Applicants must be seniors, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university, parents must be members of the HHS Booster Club, must have played at least one sport in high school each year, and must have taken psychology.
Stowell Elementary School Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Two scholarships will be given in the amount of $400 each. Applicants must be graduates of Stowell Elementary, be of high moral character, and have an academic record of “B” or better.
Superintendent's Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Scholarship amount is $1000. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, good citizenship, and complete an essay discussing the importance of school and community involvement. Financial need is not considered.
Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum’s Tom & Becky Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Applicants must have been a Tom or Becky Top 5 Ambassador and a Hannibal High School graduating senior, must reside in the city of Hannibal or live in the Hannibal Public School District, and plan to pursue post-secondary education at a 2 or 4 year educational institution or vocational institution in the fall of 2023. Applicants will be judged on achievements, academics and an essay. Scholarship amount is $800 to one former Becky and $800 to one former Tom.
Jessica Tucker Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - There will be 3 scholarships offered in the amount of $500 each. One will go to a band student, one will go to a soccer player, and one will go to a wrestler. Applicants must plan to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.
Veterans Elementary P.T.O. Scholarship (Local Scholarship) – Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be a graduate of Veterans Elementary and must have attended for grades 3, 4, and 5, be of high moral character, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Financial need is not considered.
Hannah Elizabeth Wathen Memorial Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Two scholarships in the amount of $1000 will be awarded. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 and plan to major in some aspect of the medical field.
Women’s Club of Hannibal Scholarship (Local Scholarship) - Scholarship amount is $500. Applicants must be female seniors graduating from Hannibal High School with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants will be judged on academics, activities & honors, and an essay.
