📢 Attention potential college and military bound Juniors and Seniors: We will be joining surrounding schools to attend the College Fair hosted by HLGU on September 17 from 9:30am - 11:00am. With over 50 colleges being represented as well as various military branches, this is a great opportunity for students to take part in! There was a Google Form sent through school email and through Google Classroom to all juniors and seniors interested in signing up for this event. Deadline to sign up is Monday, September 16th at 2:35pm.

🌕🍪 Mrs. Shrader and Mrs. Watkins’ Classes Learn About Moon Phases Using Oreos! 🌙 Students in Mrs. Shrader and Mrs. Watkins' classes had a fun and delicious science lesson! They used Oreo cookies 🍪 to learn about the phases of the moon 🌕. By carefully scraping off the cream to represent different phases 🌑🌓🌔, students explored how the moon changes shape throughout the month. Amber Penrose, art teacher at Oakwood Elementary, received the inaugural Arts Education Award. 🥳 For the past few weeks, we've been enjoying the brand-new sculpture on our HHS campus by Hannibal native and HHS alum Nick Willett! 👏 This stunning artwork replaces Willett’s previous sculpture, “Round Trip,” which had been on display since October 2022. 7/25/24 UPDATE 👏👏Repairs are moving along quickly, and Gerald Perry Tennis Company will NOW begin resurfacing on Monday July 29. Both complexes will be closed to community members during this time. We are hopeful that the courts will be available for community members after August 5. We will post any additional updates here. Here’s our plan to get them back in shape: 🛠️ Demo Work: Midwest Railroad will start repairing the damaged areas soon. 🎾 Resurfacing: Gerald Perry Tennis Company will begin on August 5th. Both complexes will be closed to community members during this time. ⏰ Reopening: We’re hopeful to have the courts ready for play by HHS Tennis practice on 8/12/24. 🌟 We are incredibly proud of all of our students who attended Boys State and Girls State of Missouri last week! This eight-day program, hosted by The American Legion, offers a hands-on experience in government operations. Designed to guide high school juniors toward individual success and leadership, one key idea of the program is that every individual has the power to change the world, whether they're an athlete, politician, journalist, or scientist. 🌟 Thank you to generous community funders that allow students to attend the leadership experience at no cost to them: American Legion Men's Club, American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Hannibal Booster Club, and HAYS. ♥🏴‍☠️ #HannibalProud

🌿 Native Missouri Prairie Sculpture Art 🌿 🌼The HHS advanced Ceramics/Sculpture classes have created beautiful sculptures inspired by native Missouri prairie plants and the work of Nick Willet, a 1997 Hannibal High School grad!
