About
The Hannibal School District is proud to be recognized as “Accredited with Distinction in Performance” by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. In addition, the Hannibal Career and Technical Center holds accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Our district includes an Early Childhood Center, four elementary schools— A.D. Stowell, Mark Twain, Oakwood, and Veterans—serving students in Kindergarten through 5th grade; Hannibal Middle School for grades 6–8; Hannibal High School for grades 9–12; and the Hannibal Career and Technical Center, which serves students from Hannibal High School and six area partner districts: Canton R-V, Lewis County C-1, Marion County R-II, Monroe City R-I, Palmyra R-I, and Ralls County R-II.
Hannibal School District employs 597 staff members, including 327 certificated and 270 non-certificated employees. Among our certificated staff, 61% hold a master’s degree or higher, with an average of 13.6 years of teaching experience. We offer a parent-pay daycare program for staff conveniently located within the district.
We offer robust programs in Parents as Teachers, Special Education, Title Services, Gifted & Talented Education, and Athletics/Activities through the North Central Missouri Conference.
Our schools thrive thanks to strong community partnerships and active parental involvement. PTO organizations support the Early Childhood Center, all elementary schools, and Hannibal Middle School, while a variety of booster organizations champion our athletics and activities programs. We are proud to serve a district that values education and stands united in Pirate Pride.
